I bought this to put in my dogs kennel so I didn't hear his nails scratch the plastic tray at night. My dog has the occasional accident so I thought this would be a good durable solution for disposable potty pads that he shreds as well as provide a bit of comfort. It fit my size kennel perfectly and I could still put the center divider over it. My 8 month old puppy shredded the corner of the mat in the first week. We no longer use it as intended in the kennel. This has become an outside of the kennel bed and my search for a good kennel cover continues. It's been washed a few times as well as sprayed down with a hose. It's starting to look a little dirty and drab, but aside from the chewed corner, it's holding up well. I wouldn't say it's totally soak proof, but it does absorb a bit of moisture. Not chew proof at all, but maybe good for older dogs. We might use this as a seat cover in the car when we travel with the pup.Pad, liner, mat - I'd call it those. Not a bed and it isn't described as a bed. From pics it looked like it had a little fluff to it, but the best I can describe it is very similar to a moving blanket but a little softer. It and some soft sherpa throws are all my dog gets now since he has shredded several crate beds with any kind of foam or padding to them. I'd say it's good for a dog who is going to destroy any type of comfortable thing that goes in the crate & at least there's something between him and the hard plastic bottom.I was getting tired of constantly washing my dogs thick giant bed. It seemed like every couple days it needed washed due to one reason or another. So I looked into this and ordered it. I am glad I made the choice. My dogs love to lay on this with their doggy blanket and it’s super easy to throw in the washer and dries quick!3 month old lab puppy destroyed this mat in no time by ripping the seams open.Highly recommendThe foam beds are very difficult to wash. These can be put in washing machine easily.Once washed, this crate liner fits our crate perfectly. The thickness is exactly what I wanted. It washes beautifully. As far as rating for "chew proof", I didn't include a rating. Shia hasn't tried to chew it, but I'm confident that if she tried, it would be destroyed rather quickly...not because of the quality but because little stands up to a determined soft-coated wheaten terrier when it starts to chew! ;-)I like this mat because it has some padding but is slim and bendy enough to easily fit in my washer. We have 3 through the house so our pup has plenty of places to lay comfortably and I just toss them in the wash once a week to keep them fresh. I highly recommend. Our cat likes it too! Check the size because I did order one of them too small by mistake!
